Roopkund, Uttarakhand

This place is not for the faint of heart! Roopkund is a glacial lake located in what is supposedly a most remote and dangerous area at a height of 5,029 metres. The lake is surrounded by snow-covered mountains and rocky glaciers and is frozen most of the year. This lake is shrouded in a mystery deep within its water. Under this frozen lake are buried about 300 odd human skeletons, and you can really see them as snow melts. Legend has it that the bodies of the Kanauj and his entourage were from the 9th century.

Karni Mata Temple, Rajasthan

More than 20,000 rats, known as' Kabbas,' are in Karni Mata Temple. Such kabbas are said to be Goddess Karni Mata's manifestation, and they are regarded as most sacred and adoring every day. Such kabbas walk freely in the temple and drink milk from a large bowl.Hundreds of devotees visit this temple every day, worship the rats and feed them. You assume you earn the blessings and good luck from God when you see white mice that don't show up often. Therefore, killing or harming kabbas is considered a sin.

Loktak Lake, Manipur

Have you ever perceived standing on a floating land? Okay, in the Bishnupour district of Manipur you can just do that at Loktak Lake. It is the world's largest floating lake and the biggest freshwater lake in the north-east of India. It is commonly called the Floating Lake. It is considered to be a cluster of huge quantity of organic matter, plants and soil. The lake extends over a 300-square-meter area and provides its people with a livelihood. The lake has a house called the Tourist Home of Sendra. The lake has the only floating National Park in the world, the Keibul-Lamjao Nationalpark, which is particularly remarkable.

Bara Imambara, Lucknow

Bara Imambara is a historic building from the 18th century. The architecture, mixing European and Arabic styles, is among the fascinating characteristics of this ancient structure. Another remarkable but unusual point is its three-story high and 50 meters long central arched lobby with a straight roof without any support... no beams, no pillars!
